COPIC has always been physician-led and physician-directed. The majority of COPIC’s board members are physicians, representing a diversity of medical specialties, practice sizes/settings, and geographical areas. The remaining members are from the business community.

COPIC is rated “A” (Excellent) by A.M. Best; the rating was affirmed in September 2010.

• COPIC Insurance improves medicine in Colorado and Nebraska by providing medical professional liability insurance and patient safety/risk management education to physicians, hospitals, and health care facilities and by advocating for accessible, affordable care. More than 7,000 physicians and more than 100 hospitals and health care facilities look to COPIC Insurance for guidance on making patient care safer, more effective, and more accessible.
• COPIC Financial is an independent brokerage and consulting firm providing financial services and advice to the Colorado health care community in the areas of employee benefits, property/casualty coverage, worker’s compensation, life and disability insurance, and investment and retirement planning. COPIC Financial’s agents have one priority—finding the best products and services in the market to ensure appropriate coverage and save customers time and money.
• COPIC Medical Foundation works to improve health care outcomes through grant funding of programs and initiatives that improve patient safety and quality of care through education and training of health care professionals or through systems changes and improvements, pilot programs that are designed to reduce medical errors, and development and implementation of checklists and other tools to improve disease management and transitions in care.
